Games,games,games.games.2010,game,2010,2010.story,article,horror,games source The Independent title Horror games for Mac article The UK is not the only part of the world where horror games are becoming popular, according to a new report.
According to Game Inventors and Industry UK, more than 1.8 million people across the globe have downloaded the game Horror Games for Mac since January.
And while the number is still relatively small compared to the number of new horror games that are released every year, there are plenty of new titles on the way, and it’s looking like a good time for horror fans in the country.
“The UK is definitely one of the most attractive markets for new releases, but it is also one of those markets that we have not yet seen the kind of demand for new horror titles that we do in the US,” Game Injectors and the Industry UK’s Matt Richey said in a statement.
“This is in part due to the very limited availability of the PC platform in the United Kingdom, where it is still a minority market.
It is also a good reason to expect some interesting releases in the coming months, but to date we haven’t seen any new titles hitting the shelves here.”
A huge majority of the UK’s new horror releases are still coming from the likes of Bethesda, Obsidian and Ubisoft.
But the game developers are making a difference in the market.
“It is exciting to see that developers are continuing to support PC and the Mac, which means that horror fans around the world can now play and enjoy horror games on the platform of their choice,” Riche, of Game Inventions and Industry, said in the statement.
